Call for Artists

2022 Call for Featured Artists

Cambria Center for the Arts Gallery is currently accepting applications for featured artists for the 2022 season. We are seeking three or more two-dimensional and three-dimensional artists who can fill roughly 50 linear feet of gallery wall.  Two-person shows are the most popular format; two artists can apply together or we may suggest a “partner” whose work is complementary to yours.  Three-dimensional artists will need to partner with a two-dimensional artist.

Shows last approximately two months; there is no entry fee to the artist however our gallery will retain a 30% commission on artwork that sells.  If the artist prefers that CCA curates the exhibit there will be a hanging fee of $100. We also request that a donation be made to the gallery. A well-publicized artist reception is part of the package; this reception is held on the Saturday following take-in and hanging of the show.

Cambria Center for the Arts is the only co-op gallery between Cayucos and Carmel.  We are housed in the historic “old grammar school” building on Main Street, midway between the East and West Villages.

Application deadline is September 30, 2021

To apply, email the following to Cindy Stiles at submissions@cambriaarts.org

  • The completed Featured Artist Application (linked below)
  • At least five high resolution images of your artwork
  • A written Artist Bio of approximately 300 words

Please refer all questions to our Gallery Exhibit Development Coordinator, Cindy Stiles at submissions@cambriaarts.org

Participate in the Member Artist Showcase

YOU DON'T WANT TO PASS UP THIS OPPORTUNITY!

One of the benefits of being a member with CCA is for artists who would like to have an online portfolio of their work. The Member Artist Showcase is a great venue for artists. Artists can upload an image of self, include a bio of up to 300 words, include 12 works of art, and even include a video. Click the link below to open the Artist Portfolio interface. Type in your email address to verify you are a current member and add your content. You can come back to this same interface at any time to change the content.

When we open our doors in the coming months, you find a new addition to our Gallery. We're calling them Member Artist Stations, which are designated to a single artist or pair of artists for a period of four months. Included will be either a 24" wide folding art bin or four pedestals and the wall space above. For more information about this and an application to apply, select the Member Artist Stations button.
