Planned Updates to the Center

Staging the Future: A Campaign to Refresh the Center

The Center is home to a fine art gallery, resident theatre program, annual film festival, ongoing educational opportunities and much more. With so much going on for the community, it was time to update some key elements of our facility. Check out what we’ve already done - and what we have planned to update!

Still to come!

The Center is still working to design and implement a major upgrade to our kitchen facility to better support the events and classes held in the Center. In addition, we continue to seek donors to add to our endowment funds that support our children’s programs, local scholarships and film grant programs.

Lobby Work Completed!

Our new lobby is a welcoming place to see art or attend a show with a new reception desk and digital signage, comfortable seating, updated lighting and paint, and a donor recognition tower.

Gallery and Lending Library Completed!

We updated our gallery with improved lighting, new paint, and sound system. We also created a new library wall to let patrons peruse books on art and theater, as well as added extensive new storage and display cabinetry.

Theatre Upgrades Competed!

We updated our theatre space to better support both live performances and films, including new lighting, new sound system, an expanded technical deck, and improved projection and screen components. We also enhanced facilities with an updated dressing room, improved stage appearance and a new background scrim.

Green Room Updated!

Named for CCA Theatre founder Nancy Green, this multipurpose room has been updated with new paint and refinished floors, while bringing in additional storage and new modular tables and chairs.

Studio Space now open!

After taking over the former school district reception area, we completely removed the old office half walls, refinished the floors and repainted the space to create a new multi-purpose gallery, reception and classroom space—as well as added office storage.

CCA continues a nearly 75 year history of supporting the arts in Cambria.

CCA has been in our current location since 2006, sharing the building with the Coast Unified School District offices. Recent reconfiguration of our shared space has given us the opportunity to make significant improvements and additions to the Center. We’re excited to continue the evolution of the Center’s contribution to Cambria, which dates back to 1947 when the original group of local artists banded together and created the gallery in the Old Schoolhouse.

Help us showcase and share the arts in Cambria. Your donation of any amount to the Staging the Future campaign will help improve the beauty and function of this important community resource.

Exterior Branding and Signage In Place!

We added bright new banners to exterior of the building and worked with the school district to improve lighting for evening events.
